I’m self admittedly an over documenter, so it was only natural to start up an Everyday project when my little daughter Lily was born. Actually that’s not true, technically I started when Tanya first became pregnant, but that was it’s own little thing. Doing an everyday project is kind of a daunting task, but after a couple years of daily documenting it somewhat seems natural. It also shows you how precious photography can be, I wouldn’t trade some of those first photos for the world.
When I first started doing my project I used the app Everyday which works on my iPhone 5. I used it until it started becoming more of a chore than it would be to just upload a photo onto Facebook manually [where I more or less amuse my friends on a daily basis]. The biggest problems with the app is a] it stores the files in really low resolution, so you can’t exactly do anything with them later on and b] it gets extremely huge and slow once you really get going with it.
My current workflow since last July is to take photos using the normal iPhone app, edit my favorite using VSCO Cam, and then upload right to my Facebook gallery. Here is my up to date collection of everyday photos along with some of my favorites, I hope you have fun going through them!
