A Santa Barbara Destination Wedding
Wedding Venue: Unitarian Society Church
Reception Venue: Stella Mare
It seems like Tanya and I are always heading up to Santa Barbara for wonderful weddings and this one was at the tail end of last years wedding season. Kate and Robert got married at the rustic Unitarian Society Santa Barbara, an amazing old California style church. Huge doors, wooden ceiling pillars, and a central courtyard provide a really fantastic setting. Alice Keck Memorial Gardens is also right across the street and was a perfect spot for evening portraits.
For the reception it was off to the the quaint Stella Mare’s restaurant, a favorite ‘french-country’ style institution in Santa Barbara. We were immediately struck by the gorgeous decor [we’re huge french country style fans] and the almost greenhouse style main room. Way cool, and I would love to go back there just as a guest and stare at all the eye candy.
Since they were coming all the way from New York the couple used the skills of the great Joy Proctor [Joy de Vivre] to put together all the wonderful details and planning. Any time you’re doing a destination wedding having a person on the other end that knows what’s going on saves you a major headache. Working with Joy is always a pleasure.
Hope you enjoy the photos!
