We’re big walkers, and Tanya and I used to walk up and down Main Street in Santa Monica all the time doing a little window shopping. The beach is right there too, so you get a little bit of everything! Every time we’d go, we’d inevitably park right by a little old Victorian house with tons of Christmas lights in the trees and I’d think, that would be an amazing venue to shoot at. Well, turns out I got to and it included a fun little trip around the Santa Monica sights.
The Victorian Wedding
First stop was Rococo Salon in Santa Monica, where Haesung and the girls were getting their hair and makeup done. Everyone was having a great time and it was close enough to the church that they decided to walk over- great decision!
Meanwhile, getting ready for their Victorian Wedding was Benny who was down in the Speakeasy Bar with the guys. The decor and hand lettered chalkboard were amazing!
After a short walk Haesung arrived at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica for the ceremony. She had a perfect classic white wedding dress and put it on with the help of her bridesmaids.
The ceremony included a full string quartet by La Folia Chamber Ensemble.
After a beautiful ceremony we caught a shuttle down to the Santa Monica Beach boardwalk near the pier. It wasn’t an incredibly busy day thankfully and we had a great time shooting in front of the beautiful surroundings. Carole of Bright Blue Events did an awesome job coordinating our portrait shoot and getting everything lined up perfectly for when we got back.
Haesung has such an incredible glowing smile, it was so easy to see the love felt between her and Benny.
And then it was time to head back up for the reception at The Victorian, but not before we got a few final shots on the rooftop deck.
Haesung and Benny had their Victorian Wedding fully decked out with incredible decor. It’s hard not to be a peonies fan after seeing all the pink and white flowers from Larchmont Village Florist. Seriously amazing work, and it went seamlessly together with the cake from Jamaica’s Cake.
This table has pretty much my dream details, absolutely gorgeous.
I am a sincere lover of candid photos and this wedding had such a great group of people. Prepare yourself for some amazing reception photos!
Thank you for having me be a part of your incredible ceremony Haesung and Benny! -Ian
