Robin and Jay are incredibly talented entertainment professionals in Los Angeles and wanted to share one of their ‘special places’ with their family and friends, Paradise Cove in Malibu, California. I’m such a huge fan of when my clients do things like this because it always reminds me of my own wedding and how excited I was to share Point Lobos with my family and friends. It’s not often you’re able to show off your special little place in the world with everyone that is meaningful to you, so it always makes me really happy to be a part of similar style weddings.

“We wanted a location for the wedding that was special to us and that we could share with our family and friends, especially for those travelling in for the wedding. Paradise Cove is one of our favorite places to spend time and to share with visitors. It’s tucked away and feels like a discovery every time you drive in. It was the only place we considered getting married and we were thrilled to have it as our wedding venue. It was truly a dream come true and it was captured so beautifully by Ian.”
“We started our event with cocktails, then ceremony and reception. Greeting our guests as they arrived was one of my favorite parts of the day along with enjoying cocktails and hors d’oevres before the ceremony.”
Paradise Cove had a little something for everyone, the kids got to run around on the beach and the adults got to take in the gorgeous view and sunset on the pier. We got a fantastic ocean breeze and the weather really couldn’t have been more perfect!
Once the sun started going down, it was time to move the show to the far end of the pier and start the ceremony. The moon was rising directly behind Robin and Jay which made it a little extra special!
“The dress was custom made by Designs by Dirouhi. I wanted a classic dress in a non traditional color so I could wear it again after the wedding. Also, the dress needed to fit for a wedding at the beach. Since the dress was a bold color, we went with neutrals for the bridal party. For the guys, we wanted them to be dressed up, but not super formal so we went with tan suits and no ties. The girls all picked their own black dresses and each found one that suited them perfectly.”
The ceremony was filled with tons of heartwarming moments and lots of laughs. It was such a treat to be a part of such an emotional moment.
After the ceremony, the reception moved from the pier up to the bluffs overlooking the Malibu coastline.
“One of my favorite parts of the planning process was having artist friends draw cities that we had been to together and used them as the centerpieces. Seeing each of the drawings as they sent them to us was a real treat.”
“We had a fair amount of kids coming to the wedding and I struggled with how to entertain them at an event mostly for adults. Our friends recommended having a bouncy castle which turned out to so much fun for kids and adults.” -It was awesome [Ian]
