Adamson House Wedding by the Malibu pier - Los Angeles, California
Wedding/Reception Venue: Adamson House Weddings - Malibu, California
When Deepa and Bart initially approached us about shooting their Indian wedding, Ian and I jumped at the chance. To photographers, the colors, textures, and different traditions are such a treat to capture. The best part of the situation though, was meeting Deepa and Bart themselves. Deepa and Bart are perfect for each other - great compliments for each others personalities and very much in love. After photographing their amazing engagement session, we were even more excited to shoot their big day.
As in traditional Indian weddings, Deep had a Mehndi ceremony prior to the wedding. Artists use henna to decorate the hands of the guests but the intricate henna saved for the bride is especially amazing. Hidden in the artwork is the groom's name for the groom to find on their wedding night.
A few days after the Mehndi ceremony, Deepa and Bart married at the Adamson House in Malibu in an East meets West event. For the Barat, the processional of the groom, Bart rode in on a horse to the sound of drums and traditional music. Everyone joined in clapping and dancing and the energy was palpable. Deepa and Bart's wedding ceremony took place under a tree with sunlight filtering through the leaves. The ceremony was filled with flower garlands, the sweet smell of incense, and the joy of shared smiles.
The wedding reception was held in a garden area of the Adamson house, overlooking the Malibu pier and beach. Each table had fruit at the place settings, which tied in to the place cards that Bart's mother had made. The centerpieces were boxes filled with wheat-grass and Gerbera daisies. The vibrant colors kept in line with the colors of the day. The wedding was a vegan affair, with traditional Indian foods and a vegan cake made by a friend of the couple.
Enjoy! This is a pretty huge posting [it was hard to cut down all our favorite picks!]
