After waking up super early and freezing our butts off we headed out of Glencoe, Scotland and towards the little port town of Oban. I think I almost ran over probably a good 15 pheasants on that drive. On the way, we found a little town with a fort called Castle Dunstaffnage. We needed a break so we decided to go check it out and got some really nice early morning light. By early morning I mean like 10am, the sun wasn’t rising till really late and was usually setting by like 4pm. Days were really short and it took some serious getting used to.
Oban is the biggest town on the western coastline and it was a little jarring to see people and shops again. Food options? Excellent! I also knew this was probably the best place where I could get my new Scotland bag patch [so I remember where I’ve been] and found a nice little flag that fits nicely.
