Jasper National Park
The Athabasca Glacier
Alberta, Canada / View all National Parks
By now it should be no surprise that most of my trips center on going to see glaciers, I guess everyone has their thing and for me it's always exciting to explore and seek out the gorgeous colorful ice. On our trip to Jasper National Park we stopped at the most famous of the glaciers in the park, the Athabasca Glacier on the Columbia Icefield.
When we first arrived at the glacier it was cloudy, and you couldn't really see much around you- kind of shame because you knew there were some dramatic peaks on either side of you.
Only to have the sky open up to a crazy blue sky with long wisps of clouds sweeping down and off the Athabasca Glacier. Kind of an amazing sight to behold.
