  • Welcome to Ian Grant Photography!

My name is Ian and I'm a photographer in greater the Los Angeles area. That's my wife Tanya over there too- she's great with clients and has a fantastic fashion sense [we got married at Point Lobos, CA ourselves a few years back].   I specialize in Wedding Photography and LA Headshots but you'll often catch me out shooting landscapes and traveling insane distances to visit National Parks in my spare time.

In my wedding photography I like to combine both, so I guess I'm a landscape-wedding photographer.  I love long roadtrips and have been all over the US from Rhode Island to California. I enjoy planning far away trips and going over to Europe to drive around aimlessly for an extended amount of time [especially Iceland!]. Tanya and I run Ian Grant Photography out of our beach spot in the Los Angeles suburb of Playa del Rey, CA. Enjoy your stay, and feel free to introduce yourself!

Wedding dates for 2012/2013 are quickly filling up! If you're interested in having us shoot your wedding or event, please contact us and we'll get right back to you! Feel free to let us know your wedding ideas and how we can help!

Thank you for visiting! -Ian and Tanya

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park

California

I'll be the first to say I really hate the desert which is basically everything outside of Los Angeles- so it's funny for me to say I'd have to consider Death Valley one of my favorite National Parks.  For whatever reason I always come back with some of the coolest photos, so I've been trying to make it back more frequently.  Granted this is always in the winter as there's no way I'm going to brave 120 degree heat of the Summer.  That's just asking for disaster on our roadtrips.  DV even graced the cover of our 2006 family postcard [the highest honor!].

So today I needed a little break from non-stop wedding editing and realized I never finished up this set from way back in February.  I haven't had much time for travelings this year other than to go to Iceland, but my friend Nick and I decided to go hit up Death Valley and do some shooting.  Oddly enough, one never really expects rain when you go there but sure enough, we could tell weather was coming through when we hit fog so thick we couldn't see probably more than 10 feet...and then boy did it POUR!  According to Wikipedia DV averages about 1.5 inches of rain per year with some years going an entire 12 months without a drop.  Somehow we just timed things pretty nicely.  Anyway, here are photos from our trip!

180360 - It is interesting to see DV clouded in. When I went a few years ago, it was more like the last few photos -- with perfect reflections and not a cloud in the sky. I think you were quite lucky to see it in a pout. :)
