  • Welcome to Ian Grant Photography

Thank you for checking in on our blog! My name is Ian and I'm a photographer in greater the Los Angeles area. That's my wife Tanya over there too- she's great with clients and has a fantastic fashion sense [we got married at Point Lobos, CA ourselves a few years back].   I specialize in Wedding Photography and LA Headshots but you'll often catch me out shooting landscapes and traveling insane distances to visit National Parks in my spare time.

In my wedding photography I like to combine both, so I guess I'm a landscape-wedding photographer.  I love long roadtrips and have been all over the US from Rhode Island to California. I enjoy planning far away trips and going over to Europe to drive around aimlessly for an extended amount of time [especially Iceland!]. Tanya and I run Ian Grant Photography out of our beach spot in the Los Angeles suburb of Playa del Rey, CA. Enjoy your stay, and feel free to introduce yourself!

Wedding dates for 2012/2013 are quickly filling up! If you're interested in having us shoot your wedding or event, please contact us and we'll get right back to you! Feel free to let us know your wedding ideas and how we can help!

Thank you for visiting! -Ian and Tanya

Scotland in Winter: Castle Dunnottar

Scotland in Winter - Castle Dunnottar Castle Dunnottar was a little bit out of the way on our Scotland roadtrip, but we felt it was going to be worth it based on some photos I've seen.  I mean where else are you going to see this already epic looking castle perched on a sea stack...

Scotland: Castle Urquhart and Loch Ness

I won't lie, going to Loch Ness was probably a lifelong dream- or maybe it was more of a young kid thing because I was obsessed with watching Unsolved Mysteries.  Nevertheless, I've seen probably 75% of all Loch Ness Monster movies/documentaries in existence, even that one with the baby dinosaur back in the 80's.  Going...

Scotland: The Isle of Skye

Clearly one of our favorite little jaunts on the Scotland trip was to the majestic Isle of Skye.  As the name implies, it's an island off the western coast of Scotland and is a bundle of beautiful light goodness.  To put it in perspective, as we arrived a huge rainbow formed over the bay as...

Scotland: The Five Sisters of Kintail

Continuing on the way to the Isle of Skye you pass through an absolutely beautiful area called the Five Sisters of Kintail.  Basically it's a drive through the valley of some really super dramatic scenery and we got two really distinct weather shifts as we came in and out of it.  Super beautiful intro to...

Scotland: Castle Dunstaffnage and Oban

After waking up super early and freezing our butts off we headed out of Glencoe, Scotland and towards the little port town of Oban.  I think I almost ran over probably a good 15 pheasants on that drive.  On the way, we found a little town with a fort called Castle Dunstaffnage.  We needed a...

Scotland: Glencoe and Rannoch Moor

Tanya and I decided last November that a roadtrip around Scotland was in order, after all, the weather was a little too nice in Los Angeles and though I hate snow we should face the things we dislike. With that said we threw everything together and flew from Los Angeles > London on Air New...
