New Zealand: Fjordlands National Park

Fjordlands National Park and the Milford Sound, New Zealand Ahh...finally our last little New Zealand post, but one of the best.  Fjordlands is a rainy little National Park down in the south-west of the South Island with some really dramatic scenery.  In it is one of the most picturesque locations in all of New Zealand,...

New Zealand: Mount Cook National Park

Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand You can usually tell if I like shooting something or not based on the number of photos I take, so whittling this down to 19 photos was a real chore.  Mount Cook should be at the top of everyone's New Zealand itinerary as the area around there is just...

JO - Hi Ian, Love the New Zealand pictures! We are going there in a month, and were wondering if you could tell us a little about the Mt. Cook area. Your photos there are gorgeous, especially the ones with the river stream, suspension bridge over it and Mt. Cook in the background. Could you tell me how you got to that spot? We are doing the glacier lake boat trip (which, it looks like you did as well). Is that spot with the bridge just a short walk away from Tasman lake?

thank you!!

New Zealand: Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo

Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo, New Zealand Yet another stop on our never ending trip to Mount Cook [which was apparently in the most inaccessible place from where we were leaving].  At this point we were probably about 10 hours into the drive so we were pretty wiped out already.  It was a very nice...

New Zealand: Arthur's Pass National Park

Arthur's Pass National Park, New Zealand Surprisingly enough there are a lot of mountains in the South Island of New Zealand- and coming from the coastal area traveling to Mount Cook eventually you're going to have to cross them.  In the middle of this massive day of mountain driving we went through Arthur's Pass National...

I love your work. Your photography has a "tack sharp" prospective. The landscapes are absolutely awesome and I was impressed with the wild flowers.

I will be back to see more of your work.

New Zealand: Okarito / Franz Josef & Fox Glaciers

Okarito, New Zealand Our friend at Breakers Boutique had recommended us going and checking out this little town called Okarito somewhat on the outskirts of the Franz Josef town.  It's a neat little fishing village surrounded by the sea and marshes and is somewhat of an artist's commune.  Did I mention the insane amounts of...

New Zealand: Paparoa National Park

Paparoa National Park We continued journeying down the west coast from the top of the South Island and it was our goal to stay at this really awesome looking beach b&b called Breakers Boutique.  It was our big splurge for the trip and it just sounded awesome- we had to wiggle timings around a little...
