  • Welcome to Ian Grant Photography

Thank you for checking in on our blog! My name is Ian and I'm a photographer in greater the Los Angeles area. That's my wife Tanya over there too- she's great with clients and has a fantastic fashion sense [we got married at Point Lobos, CA ourselves a few years back].   I specialize in Wedding Photography and LA Headshots but you'll often catch me out shooting landscapes and traveling insane distances to visit National Parks in my spare time.

In my wedding photography I like to combine both, so I guess I'm a landscape-wedding photographer.  I love long roadtrips and have been all over the US from Rhode Island to California. I enjoy planning far away trips and going over to Europe to drive around aimlessly for an extended amount of time [especially Iceland!]. Tanya and I run Ian Grant Photography out of our beach spot in the Los Angeles suburb of Playa del Rey, CA. Enjoy your stay, and feel free to introduce yourself!

Wedding dates for 2012/2013 are quickly filling up! If you're interested in having us shoot your wedding or event, please contact us and we'll get right back to you! Feel free to let us know your wedding ideas and how we can help!

Thank you for visiting! -Ian and Tanya

As Seen In: L'Officiel Paris Magazine

This last week we had a nice little surprise in the form of a great French fashion magazine feature in L'Officiel Paris.  They did an article about Salvation Mountain, one of our favorite places out in desert by the Salton Sea and pulled picks from our extensive stock photo gallery [we get down there as...

As Seen in: Forge Magazine

I got a pretty interesting gig recently!  I was hired to take some action shots of a downtown Los Angeles metal forging company called California Drop Forge.  Essentially they work in the same almost old fashioned blacksmithing technique of heating metal and then smashing it into shape- just on a giant scale.  They have massive...

As Seen in: Brides: Southern California Magazine!

Tanya and I strolled into Barnes and Noble the other day in the Marina and picked up a copy of Brides: Southern California only to find one of our engagement photos in there!  Sweet!  We got a request from them while we were in Scotland last November of our great Sam and Molly engagement session...

Los Angeles Band Photography - Brett Shady

A little while back I did an album shoot with the great Brett Shady who's music is just fantastic. You might not have heard of him yet, but if you're into like an alt-country/folk sort of thing you're just going to love it. Almost a Ryan Adams in Cold Roses sort of way. Anyway, it's...

As Seen in: The Atlantic Magazine

Apparently this last week I sold one of my photos from The Stanley Hotel [creepiness] to the magazine The Atlantic. I sort of remember the mag from back in my time living on the east coast and it being in every doctors office. Anyway, it was a hilarious little find especially because staying at the...

As Seen in: Southwest's Spirit Magazine

Every few months I sell a few stock photographs of the places I travel to and recently I saw I got a rather boring photo of Burbank, California in my sold pile.  The interesting part is it said it was going to an 'in-flight magazine' with a viewership of around 500k for the month of...

As Seen in: Philadelphia Magazine

How cool is this?!  One of our favorites weddings this year of Katie and Mike was just listed as a 'Featured Wedding' in Philadelphia Magazine's real weddings section.  Their wedding had a great unique quality to it with lots of saturated reds and vintage tones.  You can see the article here and see more photos...
