My little Ian Grant Photography thing is now magically on Facebook. It’s honestly not really that exciting, but you should add it to your Facebook friends!

Well this last week has been a whirlwind as I put editing my tempting Ireland photos on hold to shoot and edit images for Steve and Jeanette’s Wedding. It was the first Mormon wedding I’ve shot, so it was a bit of a learning experience picking up the various customs, etc. The biggest difference for me was not being able to shoot the getting ready or the actual ceremony- the Mormon temple is basically closed off to people who aren’t in good standing with the church. Everyone else waits outside for the big moment of them coming outside as man and wife [its a big lead up with a huge crowd cheer].
Here are a few of my favorites from the day, I hope you enjoy!
See more of Steve and Jeanette’s wedding here.

If you’re still looking for a wedding photographer, feel free to check us out- we have pretty good prices and are pretty nice too.

The other day I was contacted by Josa [who is from Toronto] because she was going to be having her honeymoon in Los Angeles and wanted to capture some cute photos with her new husband. We decided to go to the Santa Monica Pier and got some great images of the two of them.

Alas, I will stop posting beautiful black and white photos of the reception- I hope you’ve all enjoyed. Thank you to Brian and Veronica Roof for letting me into their lives. I had a great first destination wedding experience and I’m sure there will be cool new experiences to come. Somehow [if you haven’t noticed] I’ve found a renewed new love for black and whites- go figure!
I’ll have a whole list of fun things to post up soon so stay tuned. I’ve been working on a new project taking photographs in all of Los Angeles’ towns. Quite literately, I’m going to every town [in theory] and photographing it. If you live in Los Angeles in a town I haven’t been to, and want to show me around- leave me a comment and let me know!

Hopefully you all won’t get too bored of these- Brian and Veronica’s reception was held mere feet from the beach, so after the beautiful beach ceremony we all went inside for a stunning reception.

These are some of my new favorite shots from the ceremony- as they’re leaving they had a nice healthy ‘newlywed’ glow that I think I did a pretty good job capturing. Next week, it’s on to the final reception shots!

Right before the ceremony I was busy following around the girls as they got ready in a nearby building. Once I got the call, the guys were already getting the guests seated so I had to book it down to the Weston’s beach and start collecting photos of the family.
Brian and Veronica had quite possibly the most beautiful beach ceremony I’ve seen. Granted, from a photographer’s perspective, sand=danger but once you get past that you couldn’t have a more scenic location to take wedding photographs. We even had quite the audience from a hoard of people watching while bathing in a forever pool nearby.
We were lucky enough to have a storm just roll through the area and with the gorgeous Bahamas setting sun it was a really amazing setting.

After that it was back inside the Weston for the guys and I was off to find the girls and follow them getting finished off and down to the wedding.

I had a lot of fun shooting the groomsmen out in front of the Port Lucaya, Bahamas Westin. It was still unbelievably hot and the humidity was unbearable but we banged through it and shot some photos out along some rocks in front of the resort. The nice part was a huge rainstorm had just passed [which was great in itself] and created these beautiful clouds that just lit up in the sunset.
