2009 Family Postcard: While we Were Away!

Tanya and I worked especially hard on this year’s holiday postcard and had a great time destroying our living room and buying tacky holiday garb [which I might add was available on *cough* Halloween @ Target]. This year we upped it from 100 cards to 250 so we don’t run out like last year. Hope everyone enjoys, and stay tuned for next year’s! Holiday Postcard Mockup

One of my friends Tim Luke decided he would make his own version of our holiday postcard based on the images I had up on the blog the other day. Last night around 4am I finished the design and sent the CMYK goodness out to the printer, hopefully it won’t take too long to get back to me.

I’ve actually had the front done since Saturday, and I like to let things sit for a few days to see if I still like it [I get a little excited while I'm working, and after a few days I can realistically evaluate things]. Basically every time I pull up the design I couldn’t be happier- its that cool. GotPrint is located up in Burbank, so technically I could go drive up and get them, but I figure it costs about the same to ship as it would be to drive up there. I spent a couple bucks more and got nice rounded corners too- it’s going to look amazing. I posted a couple more unused greenscreens on my Facebook. Dec. 1st is the premiere day!

One of my favorite things about being with my beautiful bride is our three year old tradition of making funny postcards and sending them out to our favorite people for the holidays. Every year we try to out do ourselves, and this years is going to be very hard to beat…I even think it’s going to best 2006’s gem. We’re going to premiere our card on December 1st, so be sure to check back then for all the goodness. In the mean time, a few preview images that weren’t used in the final and you can try to guess what this year’s theme is.

It’s that time of year again, and Tanya and I didn’t want to let you down. For this year’s friendly postcard, we’re channeling The Salton Sea, and dressed the pets up and took them to our favorite abandoned shack with a big red X to get a few snaps. You might notice a new addition to the family from last year’s animals, Bunny the bunny and Scam the cat. We got a baby Cocker Spaniel mid-year this year who [like always] is harassing poor poor Scam.
