I’m going through alot of my old pictures and posting them up on iTravelStockPhoto.com and some of my most popular prints have always been of Cinque Terre, a small coastal collection of five towns in Italy. I’ve been there twice and both times I’ve had pretty amazing memories from there.

Riomaggiore (Rimasùu in the local language) is a village and a commune in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley in the Liguria region of Italy. It is the first of the Cinque Terre one meets coming from La Spezia.

The village, dating from the early 13th century, is known for its historic character and its wine, produced by the town’s vineyards. Riomaggiore is in the Riviera di Levante region and has shoreline on the Mediterranean’s Gulf of Genoa, with a small beach and a wharf framed by tower houses. Riomaggiore has one or two roads where people go and hang out, but most of the life at night can be found at the Bar Centrale.

I’ve been going through a lot of old photos lately, in addition to finishing up the new France ones and prepping them for my new photogallery / stock photo site. It’s been pretty fun to see some of my older images and really see how much I’ve improved in such a short amount of time. Here are some of my Vernazza, Cinque Terre photos from when I was last over there in November of 2005. I’ve probably sold more Cinque Terre images than any other place, people really have an affinity for the place. Hopefully in a couple years I’ll get to go back there again, it’s really a magical place. With that said, I’m going through a lot of old photos and now out my Ireland RAW photos from scratch and am going to color them up. I wasn’t happy with the first pass I did back then, and think I do alot better now. I’ll post them up as I finish. The one nice thing is my MacPro batch processes my photos way faster now so I’m loving the new speed!

Vernazza is a town and commune, located in the province of La Spezia, region of Liguria, in the northwest of Italy. It is one of the five towns in Italy’s Cinque Terre region. Vernazza is the fourth town heading north into the Cinque Terre. It has no car traffic and remains one of the truest “fishing villages” on the Italian Riviera.
