Ian Grant Photography is a full-service photography company. We specialize in travel stock, portraiture, and wedding photography and are located in the greater Los Angeles area.
BIO:
For Ian Grant, taking photographs is not only a skill sharpened over the years, it’s in his heritage. Ian comes from a rich tradition of documentarians- his grandfather, a videographer with a vast basement vault of town history and his father, a professor of photography with a infinite collection of vintage cameras.
Born during his father’s tenure at the Univeristy of Michigan, Ian grew up surrounded by cameras. When his family moved to Massachusetts during his childhood, Ian recognized a rural landscape full of rich photographic opportunities. While other kids his age were off playing sports, he was often found in the woods and corn fields with a drape over his head taking photographs with an old 30’s 4×5 view camera. He sharpened his composition skills and talents with lighting, developing a personal style defined by vibrant colors and laser quick reflexes.
Ian translated his love of photography into his career at Emerson College, where he began his business shooting landscapes and selling hand crafted photographs around the world. Many of his images are displayed by fine-art collectors, museums and galleries alike. Ian’s energy and outgoing personality proved to be an asset. Though he continued to shoot landscapes, taking headshots and fashion photographs emerged as his true skill.
Taking portraits allowed Ian to meet new people and express their stories. It’s about capturing the sentiment and pulling out people’s natural qualities to make a beautiful picture. Ian wants everyone to look their best, whether he lends them the shirt off his back or climbs the nearest tree to get the best shot his enthusiasm for his craft shows in his photographs. Indeed everyone who shoots portraits with Ian says they feel immediately comfortable in his presence. Ian currently lives in Los Angeles, where he shoots weddings, headshots, and fashion photography, documenting moments that people will remember for years to come.
Ian Grant has been featured in Rollingstone, Mademoiselle, Netguide, The DIY/HGTV Networks, CNN and MSNBC. Our work was also recently featured in a Mastercard commercial.
